Recycling Till Receipts

i didnt realise that they shouldnt go in the paper recycling....i put every bit of paper in there... even the paper from tinned cans etc....
if you shop in large supermarket, what about saving all the till recipts from that store, and then either take them back into the store.. and say that they are un-recycable... or post the to the managing director of that supermarket to recycle.. and explain why they can not be recycled...... and as they gave them to you.. it should be their responsiblity to either change the paper so it can be recycled....or they should have the responsiblity of taking them back......
hope all that made sense.....
now that i know, i think i will do that.......as it is suprising.... how quick they mount up......
new years resolution....... cut waste even further... send till recipts back......might even send plastic bag type packaging back too.....
especially as there is only about 2 years worth of landfil left... and the council might start charging etc for waste.....as at the end of the day.... the only thin i can not recycle is the pastic/polythene bag type packaging....
sorry to off thread a bit........Work to live= not live to work0 -
Seems some Councils are very fussy. Thank goodness ours have a simple policy. All recyclables in one bag, metal, paper, cardboard and plastic. Glass in a box. Anything else in the "residuals" wheeled bin or compost. No limits on what sort of paper or plastic or glass. Surely that's how it should be?0

I have decided to email Tesco bosses to find out what their stand is on whether they are recyclable and if not why not!
I'll keep you updated

We've been told that some plastics & papers can be recycled & others can't but I'm not spending my days searching every item to check what it's made of so everything with a recycle symbol or is paper based goes in & the council can just bloody lump it.Winnings
