French doors instead of window

Hi everyone,
We are looking to have the lounge window taken out, the wall underneath knocked down and replaced with french doors.
Size of the french door will be 1100mm W x 1900mm H. Height of the wall to be knocked down is 650mm.
We have had 2 quotes so far, both from small local companies. We have never done anything like that in the past so unsure whether the quotes are fair. We are based in the South East.
Quote 1: Initial cost £2986, but special "offer" available if we decide in the next couple of days - £2488. Apparently they are having a price increase. Rehau extrusions, the company have their own factory and build the windows/doors themselves, Pilkington low- e glass. Guy came to take a look and measure, then again to discuss what he's offering (had to make sure my hubby was also present) and showed us door profiles, and done the UV light heat test with glass samples.
Quote 2 - £2581, Veka UPVC, Pilkington glas. No hard selling, discussed requirements over the phone, quote received in 2 days, no home visit. Product seems comparable to Quote 1, but will visit their showroom and ask more questions if we decide to go with them.
We are having someone else coming round next week for the third quote, but wanted to see wat your thoughts are on the above.
I am not keen on the pressure the guy Quote 1 put on us, as we will not decide in a couple of days to spend £2.5 k, when only just started looking into it and getting prices.
Thank you in advance

Well if you were not happy with quote 1 due to pressure selling then bin that quote. But no home visit for quote 2 is a bit unusual but Veka upvc is reportedly one of the best (as is Rehau). However just see what the new quote is but go with your gut feeling.

Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.1 -
Veka and rehau are both decent profiles . If they are doing start to finish inc plastering / replace skirting and internal cill board (or similar ) If its brick make sure they tooth it and not wiz it down . Looks so much better . My price start to finish ( I'm not south and don't want your work is around £2k

add on to say 1100mm is about as narrow as they come . your both doors opening is around 38 inches and the master door is about 17 and a half inches (floating mullion on the slave door reduces the master door) think my supplier does 1060 min due to them knocking when closing . Hard to explain that one in short

Thank you all for your comments.
Quote 1 supplier called back today to offer an additional £400 discount, making it now £2088!! That's a £900 discount in 3 days.
Still awaiting tomorrow's quote to compare.
@greenface2 I think £2k is reasonable, so will see if I can bring Quote 1 down by another hundredif all others more expensive.

So, had quote 3 yesterday - £1700. No hard selling, the guy just came had a look, measured and gave us the price there and then. Doors manufactured by Eurocell from what I can see from their website
Now Quote 2 managed to find various reasons to give us extra discounts lol, bringing it down to £1850 now, from the initial £2988!!!
Quote 1 is now discarded, as they have not replied to my email sent Friday, plus the price is over what we want to spend.0 -
