Redirection of post for someone who is unable to write signature?

My wife's Brother is suffering from Parkinson's and he has needed to go into a Nursing Home.
He is very mentally aware but his speech is not very good and he is also unable to write or sign anything.
He wishes to have his post redirected from his home to the Nursing Home, but according to the Post Office forms he needs to sign for this and only Him, is there a way around this?
He does not have an LPA
Thanks for any help.

I'm pretty sure I did my dad's temporary redirection online and I don't think he signed anything. He has been staying with me since September having also spent 14 months here from March to May 2020. In August, I did the online form whilst talking to him on the phone for the credit card details which I typed in. Dad can use website etc but gets very exasperated by them and for things like this, it's just quicker and less stressful for me to do it.1

Online is simplest, but there should also be an alternative for people who have disabilities that mean hey are not able to physically ding, it may be worth asking on that basis .
Would he be able to make any kind of mark, even if it doesn't look like his old signature? All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -
He really should make LPAs as a priority.1

Exactly this. Or, just sign it yourself in his name (in his presence, just to cover your back) how are the Post Office going to know?TBagpuss said:Online is simplest, but there should also be an alternative for people who have disabilities that mean hey are not able to physically ding, it may be worth asking on that basis .

How are the Post Office going to know if it was in his presence or not?emmajones1976 said:

But I agree - Just sign it yourself.
It's a procedural thing for the Post Office - they don't care who signs it, so long as it says the persons name.0
