We have wooden floors on the ground level as well and first and top floors.
Looking at uprights - bit lost.
We have 3, 4 seat sofas that sit on legs that are about 120mm off the ground.

I am looking for something as per the title of the thread but doubt it will go under the sofas,

Do not need to be powerful as we have a powerful vac for the stairs carpets etc.

Ideally it will be low noise, upright, cheap, long wire, etc - will consider a very small cylinder type as last resort.  If upright, lighter it is the better

What have you go that you can recommend please?

Can you define exactly what you mean by "cheap", what is your maximum budget?

Cheap lightweight not too bad for hard floor.

    Bissell featherweight £50

    Lead a bit short.

We took the hit  on cost and went Dyson V10 to go with our dc01 used upstairs and a dc07 down that needs a full refub when I get round to it and can get a donor machine that's getting thrown out.

Thanks all, nearly bought  one for about 50 quid but reading the review mostly good inc the 5 metre wire, the brushhead could soon scratch expensive floors. We have real wood floors, look great but they scratch very easily. We knew about the possibly of scratches but we are careful . Therefore, possibly may have to look at a small cylinder type that comes with a good brsh hear that has brush to the front and thick rubber to the back and not like the cheaper uprights that just have wheels to front and skinny rubber to the back

The Bisesll Feathweight, does it have a good brush head ie brush on the front and thick rubber on the back, please?
