Easy-to-use wired OR WiFi Prog Stat?

It's only a few buttons & a honking great rotary dial for temp ...Bendy_House said:That Siemens is interesting, BUFF, but - ooooh - all the manual buttons is a recipe for it being mucked about with. So close, but no ceegarr

presumably it needs to be a programmer too rather than just a room stat? So much better/easier in a public place to have the programmer on the boiler & a simple roomstat with +- in the hall ...
Ideally, you want something that you can set a limit on (so many people seem to think that by setting a higher temp the system will heat up faster when it won't
) & that will revert to original set temp so that it can't be left set high if people forget to reset on leaving. Or something with a simple, timed boost button.
How about https://wiser.draytoncontrols.co.uk/smart-room-thermostat ? This is their parent company's programmable roomstat range https://www.draytoncontrols.co.uk/products/programmable-thermostats/digistats-programmable1 -
Fair do's, Buff, but... these are still 'lacking'. Things like not showing the dual temps, display not back-lit, too many icons and stuff. They are all 'good', but fall far short of the Hive.Yes, it needs to be a Prog Stat so that the temps are reset to the set values even if the hall's users forget.0

We looked at several systems and the biggest problem for us was that if a user forgets to lower the temp. when leaving it stays high, wasting energy, till next time someone goes in.
Our simple wireless stat. resets to the program 4 times a day so avoids this.1 -
Just trying to save you some ££s for purchase & install. Seems like a lot of thermostats are going to fail your requirement to have both set & actual temps on display at same time. That or they will then fail on having too many icons ...Bendy_House said:Fair do's, Buff, but... these are still 'lacking'. Interestingly, I wasn't aware that you could use a Hive thermostat without a Hub (although presumably you can't then get updates etc. & lose app control & functionality) so I have learned something.

But, like you, I'd program the 'Stat to return to the default temp at certain intervals during the day, so that, say, for a 'lunchtime' group I'd have it return to the background daytime temp at, ooh, 2pm, for example, so it should be fine even if they forget to do this.In general, I'll be informed of the groups and timings, so can pre-program all this - provided it doesn't change too often
