SSE problems after migrating

Has anyone else had any problems with SSE’s final bill when they have been migrated to ovo! I paid a monthly direct debit to them and only got charged for what I used and the rest was put into my credit I then have been charged extra from my final bill with them and they can’t see the issue that they have over charged me for! I have filed complaints and had a response back from ovo saying that “they have not charged me extra since being with them” which does not account for the time I was with SSE? I need help on how to get my money back

Did you supply regular meter readings?

It is entirely possible that the amount of energy used up to the point where you switched resulted in a final additional payment being required, especially if they didn't get regular meter readings from you...If you still feel it is wrong then you'll need to explain which part of the bill is actually incorrect based on the meter readings and the consumption.

AbbeyKnights999 said:I had a smart meter so it all was done by that, I only paid for what I used and it was never over the amount set up by direct debit, the final payment for each was over £50 on each and there is no way I’ve ever used that much! I will look at my bills to see if there is any differencesUnfortunately, the way the industry process works, even with a smart meter the reading used for the closing and opening process can get adjusted.£50 does sound like a lot though, but when you look at the bills it should be clearer what has happened...

I have just checked my bills and both readings are the same from my last bill with sse to first with ovo, I’ve been charged extra from a final bill from sse not billed from ovo0

I assume that there was no tariff change between the two entities of Ovo? If that was the case, then it really doesn’t matter or am I missing something? The opening/closing reading is treated as a validated meter reading for billing purposes.0
