in Credit cards
Hello,
I am unemployed on benefits due to long term illness.
I have opened a Barclays current account. I will move funds from my Natwest account to my new Barclays current account. I will move the following into my new Barclays current account and Barclays savings account:
Current account £2000 balance with £1200 going in monthly.
Savings account £6000.
Will Barclays look at my account to see existing products or will I have to go through a another credit search for a Forward card?
I also have a Vanquis Credit Chrome card with a limit of £2000 that I pay of in full each month.
Many thanks for any advice.

Many thanks for any advice. As Zx81 says it will be both, you can of course use Barclaycards own eligibility checker to see if you are eligible for a Barclaycard forward credit card before applying for one.Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -

I'm also on long term benefits. I did the eligibility checker with Barclaycard Forward and got accepted for a credit card with £1200 limit. With my Vanquis card I only have a £500 limit and they haven't increased that in nearly 2 years. I think if you fail the eligibility check you'll be denied a card even you are a existing customer. I've been with nationwide 11 years and always fail their eligibility checker for a credit card.0

When you used the eligibility checker did you set your employment status as unemployed? Did you put your monthly income as your income? Also, I receive housing benefit so pay no rent - not sure there is an option to set this?0 -
I put unemployed. I get housing benefit too and I didn't add that amount to my total income (although been told here I should off) I just put my income (from disability benefits) which is £15.000 a year minus the housing benefit. I still got accepted.1
