Hello
I am paying the SD on a second property as my current one hasn't sold yet. Hoping to sells in the next few months, so I should get a refund on the second property SD. Does anyone know how long this takes to be refunded? And is the process complicated? Thanks!

I sold property in September 2020 and claimed the higher rate back on my new property - there was a form to complete and I had to get a UTRN (unique tax reference number ) from my solicitor ie the reference number she had when paying the higher rate on the second property - the money went directly into my bank account, I think it was a couple of weeks if not less. The form was straight forward and needed amounts and also who I had sold the first property to.3

PS just checked - the sale was mid Sept 2020 and the money arrived mid Oct 2020 - I might not have sent the form immediately - so say 3 weeks?2

I seem to recall we sent a claim in in paper form and it got lost, so we had to apply again online, so ours took a couple of months as we were patiently waiting for a while.
