HSBC Advance - not had free £140

I applied to transfer my bank account to HSBC on 19 August 2020 via the MSE weekly email, following a link - this was the last day of the offer. I never got an email confirmation of opening the account that day but then it came on 24 August 2020 and my account all switched in September 2020. I never got my free £140 but I thought that it would eventually land (maybe I had to wait 3 months). It has never arrived. I rang HSBC yesterday to find out what was going on and they said I have to contact the company where I found the link (i.e. MSE) to sort it out as it's not up to HSBC. But you can't contact MSE directly. Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do? The only reason I switched was for the free money and I've never had it :-(

Worth checking first that everything was in line with the terms: https://www.hsbc.co.uk/content/dam/hsbc/gb/pdf/current-account-MSN-affiliate-offer-Aug-2021.pdf
And if all met get back to HSBC pointing out that these terms state that it is HSBC you need to contact, not MSE (last sentence of paragraph 8)
(this is assuming, of course, that when you say 2020 you mean 2021)0
