Non-Delivery of a renewed passport

Thanks for the comment but just because it's been done for years, doesn't make it right. A passport is not exactly like ordering a toothbrush from Amazon. I had to send my supporting documents for application via signed for delivery on HMPOs strong recommendation, so why would they not do the same? 10 years ago when I last renewed this was the case. They deem it to be delivered and once it has gone through the correct letterbox it is your responsibility...
Signatures for passport have not been required for years apart from a few postcodes and sometimes occupancy residencies.
No, there's no chance it's been lost or misplaced. I only live with my other half and no pets or kids and no one has broken in. It simply was never delivered, despite the photo.0 -
That is a surprise, I spoke to a lady over the phone from the DVLA just before Christmas and she told me there would be a very long wait using the postal method. Thank you, I will give it a try.MovingForwards said:Go to the post office to get your licence done. I did mine Saturday and it arrived today.0 -
Actually, this is not possible if your name has changed since the last License.. which mine hasMovingForwards said:Go to the post office to get your licence done. I did mine Saturday and it arrived today.
Only the by post or online method.0 -

I'm not sure how that's possible, I've been on the DVLA's online application system and it asks for your passport number, which I don't have. Were you suggesting something else?I don't think so, the HMPO records of your recently issued passport are accessible to DVLA, including the photo and the option to use it for your new driving license, you don't need to present the actual passport.
You're right, my mistake, DVLA need your passport number and you don't have it. I wonder if they can access your file using your old passport number..?
Evolution, not revolution0 -
Doing it at the Post Office isn’t the same as doing it via post, as the Post Office staff take the photo and do some checks.NCP103 said:

“After you apply at a Post Office or by post
You can continue driving while you wait for your new licence to arrive.

What was in the photo exactly? Was it a photo of *your* front door with the passport being delivered?

Just a picture of my front door, nothing else. That's not proof of delivery.J_B said:NCP103 said:No, there's no chance it's been lost or misplaced. I only live with my other half and no pets or kids and no one has broken in. It simply was never delivered, despite the photo.

My research online suggests others have experienced identical behaviour from TNT, phantom deliveries with a photo of their door on the delivery tracking.0 -
A bit of a long shot but do you have an outside front door mat? Could it be underneath, to the side?
Do your neighbours know your surname now? Although Mr TNT has shown a photo of your front door, could he have left it next door and they are waiting for someone to collect it, not knowing it's you?
Sorry, clutching at straw's here.0 -
Think the passport has to have been issued in the last five years. Not sure but I would imagine that if the previous passport is less than five years old and it has been cancelled it would flag up on DVLA system as trying to use a cancelled passport
