Open Windows Keep Closing when I move Move Cursor

For the past couple of weeks (and the problem is getting worse) often when I move my cursor with the mouse, my pc automatically closes all open windows. I could be surfing the net or working on excel it doesn't matter, I just loose everything and the starting point is moving the mouse.

I have seen this in the past and it has been down to a dodgy mouse. I am not saying that is the only reason, but some things to try.
If it is a wireless mouse try a new battery.
If it is a wired mouse try a different mouse.
If it is a USB mouse try a different USB port.
Is it a laptop with a trackpad? Is the trackpad disabled?
