Hey all. So I was expecting to see a flurry of new properties come on the market at the start of Jan as predicted by some EA’s but when I look around I’m hardly seeing any new properties come online.
Is anyone seeing the same?
Currently we’re in a frustrating position as our vendor still can’t find an onward property and we’re all set to go (no chain). Worried about how long it will take them if no new properties are really coming up yet!

It could be weeks, or it could be never. My advice would be to keep looking at other properties and don't spend any money on mortgages, surveys etc until the chain is complete.1

Steady flow. Early in the year yet. Covid is still here by the way.0

When I was looking for houses I was looking for 4 bed detached houses.
I asked the agent what the sellers were doing. If they were upsizing in the same area, I didn't even bother offering as I know that there is almost nothing above that in my area. In fact many houses sell then come back on a month or two later, I imagine because they couldn't find anywhere.I'm fact I can count on one hand how many houses bigger than 4 bed come up.
Found no chain in the end and it's luckily my dream house. Took many months and luck to find it though.0 -
This week I've seen a few more popping up. A notable difference, as there has been virtually nothing since week before Christmas. Not a single property listed on Boxing Day in my search criteria despite the hype!0

It's really hard in our area, there has been almost nothing listed that meets our criteria.

Just nothing is coming on. I bought a house on an 8 house development, but it was the 3rd sold. The rest came on last week and every single one is already sold stc.0

Things are getting better in NW London. One actually came up on a street that I like, but it needs about £200k of work. Hmmm. I don't think I'll be offering asking price. Next door sold two years ago for £100k less, and has one more bedroom despite being the same/similar looking house from the front!0

A trickle around here (BA6), and most is snapped up at the asking price.0

Nothing in my area looking to downsize to a flat but worried about new fire safety regs as most blocks not had surveys done yet0

The number of properties coming onto the market here is not keeping up with the number of sales completing leaving an every dwindling pool of "stock"
Of the properties on the market a good 85% are under offer or SSTC.
Any new properties that do come onto the market, unless they are massively over priced or obscure, are tending to go SSTC within a week of going to market.
