Refund for rescheduled concert, doesn't include extra fees

So my husband and I were supposed to go to a concert next week, but last week they announced that it would be rescheduled to September next year. As we can't make that date, we requested a refund from Ticketline.
However, I have now been refunded £55 (the price of two tickets), where I paid a total of £62.10, as this included booking fees and shipment fees (even though the tickets were sent as a PDF).
Is this normal practice? And is there any way for us to claim back the extra fees? I know it's not an awful lot of money, but it seems unfair that we have to pay for something we can't even go to...

Yes... when buying via an Agent and the Principle cancels the event/flight etc its not uncommon for the Principle's refund to be passed to you but either 1) Agent's fees aren't refunded or 2) A deduction is made from the Principle's refund to you to cover the Agent's costs.
You'll find on here and the travel section that there are many threads about airline cancelled flights booked via travel agents and the agent is deducting circa £25 per ticket for processing the refund whereas direct customers get a refund in full.
Check the T&Cs but its most likely states that if an issue arises that is out of the control of the agent then their fees stand even if the main ticket fees are refunded by the production company.1 -
Damn annoying, but pretty standard. Even more annoying where it's not possible to purchase tickets direct from the venue, only from Ticketmaster.

I've only ever dealt with tiny venues back in my student days but there working with local bands there was typically two options for booking a venue for a "show"... you dont pay the venue anything and you got a small percentage of the bar takings the venue may or may not decide to do it as ticketed (if it did do tickets they normally gave you a small guest list) or you paid the venue to book it, you got all the ticket money for the tickets you sold (if you wanted tickets) and a slightly larger percentage of the bar takings. In the later case you could ask/allow the venue to sell tickets too for a commission.TELLIT01 said:Damn annoying, but pretty standard. For big productions I am sure the commercial arrangements are much more complex but buying from the venue may not be buying from the actual true sellers of the tickets...0
