A month ago I ordered a sofa off scs and delivery isn't until April, the sofa has now come down in price by nearly £1000, is there anything I could do?

Ask SCS if they're prepared to offer any discount. If they say no, you could consider cancelling the order and re-order? You may incur cancellation charges, but it may be worth your while depending on what those charges are. Also depends if you're prepared to go to the back of the queue and wait until the summer for the sofa.Seanhughes1 said:A month ago I ordered a sofa off scs and delivery isn't until April, the sofa has now come down in price by nearly £1000, is there anything I could do?2 -

If it had gone up by £1,000 would you be expecting to pay the extra?Seanhughes1 said:A month ago I ordered a sofa off scs and delivery isn't until April, the sofa has now come down in price by nearly £1000, is there anything I could do?
How did you purchase it? In store or online?
If in store your rights to cancel will be in the contract, it may be the case you can cancel for a fee of less than £1,000 and so its still worthwhile doing it. If you ordered online then you have statutory rights of cancellation but may have to have a fight as they say its MTO and so exempt from distance selling rules of the CCR but you should be able to cancel at no cost and reorder.
Ideally speak to them before cancelling and see if they can do anything so you can material most of the saving and not lose your place in the queue.0 -
It looks like you both posted almost at the same time so perhaps Sandtree didn't see the response above his/her post.Sandtree said:
