Does my central heating system contain a corrosion inhibitor

    Thank you - that's good to know.  Didn't realise you could just pour it in, although the bathroom is not the highest radiator as we have a small study in the loft area with a radiator as it. 

    Replacement is not for corrosion reasons its because my OH really really wants her towels to be warm and hanging smartly not stuffed onto a radiator as is my preference :blush:

    Ah, in that case it isn't a direct swap, like-for-like? In which case there's a good chance the pipework will need some tweaking, and this could well require at least a partial drain-down.
    Anyhoo, let the plumber get on with it. But by all means ask what they think the 'system condition' is in - 'any signs of sludge?'.

    Bear  in mind that hanging towels over the radiator will cut down on it's heat emission into the room drastically. Better to hang in front of the radiator (you can usually get accessory rails/hooks for this depending upon the design of the radiator).
