Are you planning a community event/street party to celebrate the Queen's platinum jubilee?

During the lockdown in 2020 our street managed a very enjoyable socially distanced street party to celebrate the anniversary of VE Day, by setting up our own picnics on our driveways, and wandering down the middle of the road chatting. Children danced and rode their bikes or roller skated around everyone. We all made friends of folk we had lived among for years without knowing their names and our community has blossomed as a result.
We want to build on that success by having a street party to celebrate the Queen's platinum jubilee. I've discovered we can get permission to close part of our (quiet residential) street without too much form filling and no cost. So that's an MSE start!
Other ideas we've had so far: bunting obvs, each household supplying or making their own, a fancy dress/home made crown parade for children and young at heart, chalk pictures on the pavements, individually organised garden type games on driveways, eg skittles, giant jenga, bobbing for apples in a paddling pool, pin the crown on the queen. Hoping we might find some singers, dancers, musicians, jugglers among us who'd like to do a turn. We should be able to share food this time.

No. There are only fourteen properties on our road, anyway and we have all known each other for donkeys years already and know each others' names. Since I moved here many years ago we've all sent each other Christmas and birthday cards, we are a really friendly bunch. But none of us are royalists and I think we must all be snobs because we never do bunting or flags. I could never move anywhere and not go and introduce myself to the people I live amongst. Maybe it's just me. My brother's lived in his house for 20 years now and has never spoken to any of his neighbours. I have to know my neighbours. Nosy? Maybe. I like to think it's friendly.

Also, would Her Majesty hold a party for us, street or otherwise? Doubtful.

No.  Most of the roads with residential homes are main trunk routes to supermarkets, hospitals, work etc.  So unless you live in a housing estate or private or residential road, or a coutryside location,  there is no chance of a street party. The authorities would not allow it on most of the roads around here.
Ideally a local green space with facilites should be used and not a residential road. You will then not exclude other residents in the area.
For the privileged - there are street parties planned in some areas, the road are private and the houses worth over £800,000.
Time to be friendly,  use the local green park/ areas to meet all from all walks of life in your area.
