It rather looks like you have the kind of mates who are more than happy for someone else to do the work, and who need dropping at the first opportunity. As any discussion between you must have been verbal, there was no reason why you shouldn't change you mind when circumstances dictated, so let your so-called friends wallow in their own treacle, and write the loss of money off to experience.
  • If someone takes your place maybe they will pay your share, but it’s not fair to expect your friends to pay extra money just because you decided not to go.

Tickets for Glasto are snapped up in about 20 mins so no one can go in OP's place and I expect this was a package they bought like I did and all other tent accommodation will have been sold out within the same 20 min time frame in 2019.

My package has been rolled over as well and no way can I change now ,so no, don't expect your mates to cough up your tent money as it will have been bought when you were going and they won't be able to change now

I've fetched up before on here that the MMDs miss out relevant details. That came to light some years ago when someone decided to register and tell the full story, which put a different spin on it. Before Christmas I had a MMD of my own and not feeling comfortable putting it on my own name, considered sending it in to see if it got picked up. I decided against it as I knew the replies wouldn't be based on the full facts of the story.

In this case and thanks to the poster who did the link. The person is not the lead booker. It is unlikely that his friends could swap to a smaller tent for the reason detailed above. Only if they could find someone with a ticket, wanting and without accommodation and that they are prepared to share the tent with could they find someone to fill the space. I do think if you've dropped out of something for whatever reason, then unless you can get a direct refund from the company (like in the case of the actual  Glastonbury ticket) then you accept that you have lost the money and don't look to travel companions to reimburse you.

OP must surely know there’s not a cat in hells chance of any other accommodation still being available.
You agreed a plan with your then mates. You dropped out - they didn’t kick you out.
    Man up and swallow it.
