What is this board called?

Options
Hello everyone. I need to get this board below the roof/guttering and above the window replaced or repaired as it has holes and has cracked and not sure what it is called. It runs the whole back of the house.

I did Google but have been unable to find it. I also need the guttering above it replaced so hoping to kill two birds.

Thanks in advance  :)

If you mean the narrow vertical board, then I don't think that it has any special name.
  • Yeah its hard to take a picture but yes the narrow vertical one. Thank you. I just wanted to be able to describe it over the phone to someone  :)

We had a builder look at our gutters and ended up with new felt (it stops rainwater seeping down between the last tile and the gutter?) and new, wider, square cross-section gutters to cope with the heavier rain we get nowadays. Not cheap but it worked.

Can also be worth getting your own downpipe put in if you’re sharing with the neighbours. (Usually only a problem with older properties though).

That picture was good: I’ve never known the difference between soffits and fascias but I do now.

    would've . . . could've . . . should've . . .

There's definitely no 'a' in 'definitely'.

For a door frame it would be 'architrave'

Thank you all, it looks like it could be asbestos due to the age of the house so I've got a company coming to look at it and test it for me before I proceed with getting someone to do it.
