Quote for upstairs bathroom

Our house doesn't have an upstairs bathroom at present. Typical layout where the kitchen is at the back which isn't ideal for us as it's quite big which limits what we can do with the kitchen.
We've had a quote today to install an upstairs bathroom by moving around the layout of upstairs so the bathroom will be up the stairs at the back of the house where it'll be easiest. We had a quote for everything from start to finish, moving internal walls, plumbing in the bathroom and finishing for a total of around £18,000. We were hoping more £12,000-£15,000 so £18,000 is top end for us. We'll be happy to do it but not sure if now is the right time as the downstairs layout kitchen and bathroom is the main issue for us as it's stopping us from finishing the downstairs.
But if we do the upstairs bathroom we'll have to wait for a couple of years to do the kitchen and downstairs.
Is £18,000 what we're looking at? We're quite handy so were going to look to do a lot of the finishing ourselves but not sure if it's worth it to save a few Bob?

It does seem top end but no idea of what a bathroom means to you - actual size, what fittings, tanking, tiling floor to ceiling and you’re moving walls etc.
That said a professional is just that a professional and anything you do yourself is unlikely to be anywhere near the quality of a professionals work without it taking considerably longer than if they did it which could be a false economy.
Right now - All trades are commanding a premium so it may well be around the price you’ll have to pay for doing it, try to get a couple of other quotes (difficult I know) to gauge whether the premium is reasonable to you and do consider their payment arrangements / expectations such as deposits, interim payments, materials in your considerations so nothing is a surprise or up for discussion half way through.1
