Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone knows about coming back to the UK from JFK, we are going to new york for 5 days on Friday and have our test ready for going to new York but unsure on the returning flight. the new rules say you don't have to-do a test before departing (just a Lat test on day two).
I'm just worried we will go to the airport without a test and they asking me for proof of negative test and have to pay airport prices.
Thanks

The U.K. rules for fully vaccinated arrivals are that before you return , you will need to book a test to take when you get back and complete your passenger locator form with this booking reference and have your proof of vaccination ( either upload ) or ready to show on check in and on arrival in U.K.
The airline may have additional rules so you need to check that too.
If you are not fully vaccinated or not able to prove you are fully vaccinated you will need a negative pre- departure test.0 -
You don't need a pre departure test any more to come back to the UK, just a LFT for your Day 2.0

As long as you have time you'll can pay it and then attempt to reclaim from the airline after. BA/AA these days are using VeriFly and within a few hours of the change being announced the app greyed out the need for a pre-departure test after uploading my double jabbed proof (which it successfully read automatically in seconds - there are stories of it taking 36 hours plus).
Think the risk is fairly low unless you are flying on the day of a change etc0
