vrbo apartment owner wants me to provide fire/flood insurance

Hi,
we found a holiday rental on vrbo site that we paid for through the site. The owner has prepared a contract of rental and provided it by direct email. The contract says the we (as the renter) must provide proof of fire and water damage insurance cover.
We did purchase the VRBM accidental damage policy but whilst it doesn't explicitly mention fire it does explicitly exclude smoke and water damage.
I would have though the owner should have insurance to cover their building and thus we shouldn't need it ourselves, but does anyone know how/where I could get such cover since they are requesting/requiring it? Its just for a one week rental, in France if that makes any difference.
Thanks
Simon
