DCBL Letter of Claim - SAR information different to claim

Hi all,

Have been reading through the newbies thread since I received a letter of claim from DCBL for a parking ticket issued in 2018. 

I sent a SAR as suggested in the thread and the information provided to me by UKPC is different to information on the claim. 

UKPC noted that there is "1 parking charge notice against you which is in Debt Recovery." and then provided me with PCN details and photos of a different car (my new car) and on a different date than the one referenced in the letter of claim. 

For info, the original ticket was for parking in my workplace car park which I pay for via my salary. I can evidence that the car was registered and paid to park there but of course the permit fell off the dash and that's why the ticket was issued. The workplace now provide parking attendants with car registration details so that this exact issue doesn't occur so they knew it was a problem, however they refuse to get involved in any individual disputes so asking them to cancel the PCN is not an option. 

Am I correct to carry on preparing my defense as is (will draft and post here for feedback) whilst waiting for the claim or should I mention anything about UKPC providing me with information relating to a different vehicle?

Any help would be much appreciated!

How did they get a photograph of your new car?  How long have you had it.?  Do you have another PCN for thos one?

If they do issue a claim for a car you did not own, issue consider a counter-claim for harassment/data breach.  I would not start the defence until you have a claim.

Thasks DPDance I should have clarified but now can't edit my original post. 

There was a PCN issued for the car referenced in their email (for the same issue in the same car park, I know I know) but I have not received a letter of claim from them for this. 

The letter of claim was for an old vehicle which I do not own any more.

Reply to the SAR giving the other VRM and ask UKPC to check again.

Thanks, will do that. Wasn't sure if I should mention it as they didn't but also don't want to get caught out!
