Black Box Removal

I purchased a car from Arnold Clark in June 20. The battery has now started draining, which I got AC to take a look at, they clearly didn't properly check as I have had no joy (another story). I then got it checked by an independent mechanic who confirmed that there was a black box fitted under my steering wheel which wasn't turning off when it was supposed to and it is possible that this is what is draining my battery as it is constantly using it.
My issue is how do I get this removed as I have no clue which insurance company installed this. I am single mum and don't have anyone who could remove it, so it would need to be a mechanic etc.
Can anyone give me any advice? TIA

Locate the fusebox and disconnect it. It will be obvious which one it is as it should be a big plug in the fusebox.
Sounds as if it's connected to the wrong slot as it should be on an ignition live meaning it only turns on when the car is running0 -
If you can work out which fuse it is, there may be an option to reposition the fuse to change it from Always Live to Ignition Live.
Otherwise, as per above, pull the fuse (provided that it's not also powering other circuits).
What make/model of car is it?Jenni x0 -
Just wonder how many more people have a black box they do not know about?

I don't want to insult the single mother OP, but I wonder if she might just find it a little difficult or even daunting to follow the advice to locate the fusebox and start "messing" with something she may not be familiar with?
I would suggest getting Arthur Clarke to remove it, but I don't suppose they'd know how to either...

I have one but it connects to the OBD2 port. No wiring needed.
Is there a sticker or any info on the box ?.0 -
"and it is possible that this is what is draining my battery as it is constantly using it."Only "possible" and without a proper diagnosis it will be impossible to confirm. I would try another "mechanic".
