FTB - Previous Owners Landlord Issue

Hi Everyone,

Looking for some advice regarding a peculiar issue that has arisen with the purchase of my first flat.
Had an offer accepted in August 21, everything moved along pretty slowly but progress was being made by Late November and I was hoping to have completed before Christmas.
Since November my solicitors have been waiting for information regarding the ground rent, it transpired last week that when the current owners bought
the property their Solicitors at the time never informed the Landlord they had purchased it.
The Landlord is now refusing to release information to them for me to be able to purchase the flat and they need to sort this issue with the old solicitors before we can progress anymore.

My Mortgage offer expires in 5 weeks which is the only major worry I have, does anyone know roughly how long this may take to sort?
I have contacted my Mortgage broker about options for extensions/reapplying if it is longer than 5 weeks but hoping those steps aren't necessary.

Any help or advice appreciated.

Depends entirely on the management company.
Could be sorted in a week.
    Might take months.....

Your vendor needs to get this sorted ASAP or they won't be able to sell it.
They may also find they owe some ground rent from the day they completed.....
