Winter Fuel Allowance

Winter fuel allowances are paid to over 60,s irrespective of their financial position.Would it not be better to means test this so that only those that are financially struggling get the allowance.With the upcoming massive increases due from April this money could be re-directed to those that need it most.There must be many thousands of fortunate people who just think of this allowance as a type of Xmas bonus !! Surely this is the time to make a change.

Yes   , take it to your local MP .

Believe this was debated at a government level a few years ago .

Claim made that it would cost more to means test every claimant .
