Agree with grumbler, or use "Wago" connectors.1

Yes I like the wago 221 connectors for making something safe for a while, e.g. when plastering or whilst the OP makes up their mind on a replacement fan. If it's inside the fan housing, it's very low risk, so insulation tape would do really.nofoollikeold said:Agree with grumbler, or use "Wago" connectors.
Sounds like the OP has gone with some block connectors, which is fine (clearly the three wires need to be separate and not all in one block). You might leave the earth and neutral connected to the fan and just put the live into a single connector block.1 -
It's worth noting, that Wago (or similar) connectors are no safer than traditional connectors with screws. Generally, they require a plastic box too. The only difference is that they are 'maintanance-free'.
