Hiya
I have recently bought a house. Yay. I’m scared it may be falling down. (Boo). I am being over dramatic. And I have a survey for the house itself which will involve calling out some trained workmen. (I’m not going to mess with the roof, electrics or look at the pointing at high levels etc).

On the garage I need to do some pointing. (A chunk of cement or something fell off the wall today). I’m fairly sure I could pick more off but have left it for now.
Given it’s the garage can I give this a go myself?
All low level. It’s for stone work not bricks. The stone appear to be cosmetic as the structure is built with breeze blocks. The breeze blocks all look sound.
If I do this badly would it make the issue worse?
Many thanks.

no harm in having a go. If it's a small area, and for a first attempt, a premixed mortar (just add water) might be worth buying along with pointing trowels. Unlikely to make it worse, apart from the way it looks of course0

Is it a thin stone veneer?0

It’s big bits of stone. Creating the look of poles in front of the breeze blocks. And I will Google premixed mortar now.Thanks.
