Potential implications of having been in hospital under a section 3?

Does anyone know of any potential implications of having been in hospital under a section 3?
Something I've read about is it can affect travel to the US and China but upon reading further, this isn't necessarily the case. I was wondering if it could have any effects on obtaining a mortgage? I understand also that it wouldn't come up on a DBS check - it's got nothing to do with a section 136.
TIA!

Social services have a duty (under section 117) to provide free care needed to prevent readmission - it can help to get action from their stretched resources.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Thankyou, yes I know about this... It's through the local CCG rather than social services and it's proving impossible to access. It genuinely feels like they don't care.theoretica said:Social services have a duty (under section 117) to provide free care needed to prevent readmission - it can help to get action from their stretched resources.0 -

I am sorry it is proving so hard - my experience of this is it took a firm lawyers letter, but was achieved in the end.

This may be the route I have to pursue. I've been told to raise a complaint first and see how that goes then escalate it if necessary. It shouldn't be so hard.theoretica said:honeybee1234 said:

It shouldn’t affect getting a mortgage in and of itself but if your illness meant you missed payments or got into debt while in hospital then obviously that would affect how providers viewed you.
No one is going to know unless you choose to disclose it, barring specific questions being asked.
When I looked into travel to the USA, as far as I could tell they are more concerned about people relapsing while there rather than the section being a definite no. If you can show you are stable and likely to stay so then its easier to get in.117 is a bit of a nightmare and what people get does seem to vary a lot between trusts. Do you have a care co-ordinator allocated? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
My CPN is my care co-ordinator. After I said I'd like a personal health budget, my CPN looked into it, came back and he said they'd been 'suspended.' I contacted Mind who said there'd been no national suspension of 117 personal health budgets and advised me to follow the complaints procedure to see if I had any joy.elsien said:It shouldn’t affect getting a mortgage in and of itself but if your illness meant you missed payments or got into debt while in hospital then obviously that would affect how providers viewed you.
