Yorkshire Water Missed Payment

Sold my house in Sep 21. Trying to buy a house now and a couple of agreement in principles bounced. Checked credit report and Yorkshire water reported failed payment of £44 after closing the account down. Phoned them up they said when the close the account they also automatically stop the direct debit, so the final monthly payment could not be taken and as there was no forwarding address on file they wrote it off and put a bad marker on my credit score. They have said they will investigate this further as they can see I contacted then a few days before moving. What are my options here?

Yep, as y3sitsm3 says above, wait and see. It sounds positive though as they have acknowledged the problem and hopefully will put it right without any hassle.
