Fitbit problems

I'm wondering if anyone can offer advice...

My husband bought me a new Fitbit for Xmas (an Inspire 2). He bought it on 31st October on Amazon and not from Fitbit directly.

The Fitbit itself is functioning, but it won't link with my mobile (a 2019 Huawei). I've been through numerous rounds of troubleshooting, including with Fitbit customer support. They told me today that my phone frequently has connectivity issues with their Fitbits. They obviously keep that bit quiet when you're purchasing!

I'm wondering if there's any way husband would be able to get money back? Fitbit won't accept return as it wasn't bought thru them. I also fully accept that its not faulty. Seems too late to request money back from Amazon too. And not bought on credit card. Do we just need to chalk it up to an annoying mistake?

Thanks in advance

There is nothing wrong with the fitbit so not entitlement to any refund.

The issue is that you bought something not compatible with your phone.

You'd be better off selling it on privately and finding something that does work with your phone.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • Is your phone running Android or the Huawei OS ?

I have just purchased a Huawei Band 6 and although there was an app in the Google store it was a legacy from the old days before the USA/Huawei spat.

I found the most recent version in the Huawei App Gallery, so it may be worth have a look there for something more compatible with your device.

It installed fine on an Android phone after downloading in APK form and giving the required permission.

We had a similar issue with my wife's Fitbit and her then Huawei phone. We discovered that this was a known and common issue between these two devices. Something to do with agressive power management on Huawei phones.

There is an app on the play store (the APK is probably available too). The initial trial is free, but there is a small charge for a permanent fix through the app.

I can't find the name of the app at the moment, but will dig it out once I find from my wife's phone.

    Can't help with the fitbit.

But better off getting a Huawei watch. Does exactly the same & is far more accurate 👍
