grrrrrr (I feel better for that!)
Is anyone having issues with Natwest since they moved from Visa to Mastercard? I am really struggling, 8 different online companies now not accepting my new card, I call natwest and they said they cannot see an issue...
just wondering if anyone else having problems?

I don't use my Natwest debit card, so can't say whether it would present me with problems. However, I could suggest you could try fronting your Natwest card with the free Curve card (assuming you have a smartphone). That's a Mastercard, too, but I haven't experienced any "card denied" issues with it, and haven't read of any.

Good grief, that sounds terrible! Short of using a different bank, I don't have many other ideas. Chase UK is ok for payments (though not for DDs !!) - I use it all the time, mostly through Curve. Only place the Chase Mastercard was rejected was at iWeb Sharedealing. You get 1% cashback for a year on most day-to-day purchase, so this is my go-to payment card for now. You can start using the Chase card the minute your application has been accepted, as all the card details are available in the app, so you don't even have to wait until you get the physical card (which doesn't have the details printed on it, anyway). Chase don't do a hard credit check.
Another account easy to get, and without credit check, is Starling. Or Monzo, though I don't have much experience with them. You have to wait until you physically get the card before you can use it. They are both Mastercard, too.
In the longer run, you should probably also get a VISA card, either debit or credit card, just in case either card network goes down (it has happened before!). It seems to be increasingly difficult to find a VISA debit card though.

That is what I was wondering as well - what websites are they?

And what do you mean by "not accepting my new card"? What sort of error messages (if any) are you seeing? Is the website doing an initial check and telling the number you've entered isn't valid or is it letting you try to pay and the payment is then failing to complete successfully?0

This is one of the reasons why everyone should have at least 2 current accounts with 2 different banks (not in the same banking group). Preferably one account with Visa card and the other with MasterCard. Since most current accounts in the UK without a monthly fee, you can have several current accounts. I personally have 14 at the moment, no issue at all. Some people on this forum have over 30 accounts. That's surely a bit too many, but you can easily have 3-4 accounts for various perks, for future switching (for switching bonuses) and also as backup accounts.
