Amazon Echo 8 display problems

My 2nd generation Echo 8 has been playing up for the last couple of days. The clock display has the Amazon pictures display which changes every minute or so but recently going back to just the clock and other things/pictures EG abstracts. I've turned it of/on, turned internet off/on, reset to the clock display with Amazon pictures but it's still playing up. Today, having trouble connecting to the net.
Last night at my brothers home I mentioned this to him he has been having same problems for a week he has the first generation of this device.
I also have Google Smart speakers an displays they seem to be working fine.
