Buying a second hand car Would you be worried about these MOT advisories

Hi all,
I am interested in buying a second hand Honda.
When checking the MOT history the following advisories have come up:

Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories):

  • Front Brake pad(s) wearing thin (1.1.13 (a) (ii))
  • Offside Front Anti-roll bar linkage ball joint has slight play (5.3.4 (a) (i))
Would these be a concern to you? Would they be expensive to fix?
Thank you

Not really, but do take into account the costs to fix those issues when you make your offer.

As Niel says, nothing serious but get a couple of quotes and use that to negotiate, then , if you buy the car , get them done

Both are wear and tear things so happen occasionally.

It'd be far more telling if the owner replaced the brake pads already. It's a pretty cheap job to do, so ignoring the warning hints at being a bit neglectful of the car in general.

If everything else is fine then I wouldn't let them out you off, it's a couple of hours work and some smallish parts. Maybe £200 at most.

I've see this and other joints on advisories before, never to be mentioned again on the MoT. Easy business for the garage if the customer wants them changing

A local independant garage should do it quite cheaply. Nothing to worry about.
