Shower tray advice needed. Fast flow/low profile

We installed our bathroom in 2016 and chose an aqua dart 900x900 enclosure and stone slim profile shower tray with a fast flow waste.

The drain always seemed to get clogged every few months despite having the trap and we used a very strong chemical to unclog the drain. Over the years this seems to have corroded the pipe and we had a leak through the kitchen ceiling this week.

could you share your tips for choosing a new enclosure and tray? We need this to last without any more issues.

We don’t really want another fast flow waste but we aren’t being offered an alternative with the options we are looking at.

The current tray was cemented to the floor at installation.

thanks

I have a 900x900 low profile tray and I take the trap apart every week to clean it as shampoo and shower gel etc build up and leave a slimy mess. If I don't clean it regularly then the soapy water doesn't get away the same and the tray can fill up - simply pulling the top off the trap works as an emergency measure for us. There's never any build up of hair in it. Every now and again when cleaning the trap I remove the shower head taking care not to lose the washer then run water directly into the waste pipe to give it a clear out.

Not saying you have done anything wrong but you might prevent the problem occurring with a modified cleaning routine. It the waste pipe runs with the joist rather than through them can the leak be fixed by removing the kitchen ceiling? Cheaper than ripping out the tray? Upgrading to 50mm waste pipe might help if it doesn't already have it.
Sorry I can't think of anything profound, clever or witty to write here.

No help choosing a new tray but we have a similar issue with our shower waste.
I have one of these drain blaster type tools (not this exact one but one like it)
    https://www.drapertools.com/product/21837/drain-blaster/

I just plunge the waste a couple of times and everything is free flowing again.
... I should add that all our waste is solvent weld rather than compression fit which I guess could blow apart!
