One of our unsung covid heroes

I live in an old cottage with a low water flow due to being on a shared supply and getting a washer to work is tricky. So I have always used the launderette in the local town. However being CEV and immunosuppressed with a chronic autoimmune lung condition, I've been shielding due to covid and the launderette has been off limits. So a friend and neighbour offered to do my washing and she has done so every week since the start of the pandemic.
Not only that she has both taken me to hospital over 40 miles away and picked me up and has looked after my dog twice when I was admitted as an emergency. When I was discharged after a spell in ICU, she came round to check and did things like walking the dog and getting the coal in.
We are both retired around the same age and she herself has a vulnerable husband at home.
An amazing lady - I honestly don't know what I would have done without her these last two years.

That's lovely. You could send her a bunch of flowers!
I always try to help my neighbours whenever I can. In fact we all do what we can to help each other. It's great to have good neighbours and, as you must do, I thank my lucky stars every day. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts.
