Hello. As above really. System is about 15/18 years old and hardly used the CD and never used the twin cassette deck. It was used for Dolby sound with the tv as it has 5 speakers but then we stored wthen we got a new tv about 6 years ago, It looks now, the sound is second to none as it was a flagship mini hifi in the AX range. The tray does not come, none of the 5 come out but sign saying 'opening. ' I had a look at three of the belts all working but there is a fourth did not take the cover off appears to be in one piece.
I've tried turning on off and physically pulled one try and went back in on command but won't open. Looking on Google it appears a common problem but no answers to speak of.

My Technics did the same, I was able to open it up and used some Hair clipper oil to lubricate the rack and mechanism, been fine since but I find its a bit temperamental if I leave the tray empty so I make sure there is always a cd in it.0

Model number? Pictures might be helpful.
Can I ask why you are trying to resurrect this kit? If it's out of interest or as a project then good. If it's to perform a particular task then people may be able to suggest other solutions.0 -

Search on YouTube for the model number along with terms like 'maintenance', 'disassembly', 'repair' and the like.
I'll wager there's a refurbishment video for it.0 -
