Email Problem

Options
I use Hotmail from Outlook but recently I have had no emails at all I got my wife to send me a mail but I never received it.I have spotted a icon in the task bar and when I checked it was for something called Email for Windows and it is listed in my apps.Is this something I installed accidently. There is a option uninstall it bt if I do that how will it affect my normal email account ie will I lose everything on there.Forgot to say the icon is shaped like a envelope.I use windows 10.

How do you collect your emails? Can you go on to the web and see any from there? If there is a new mail application on your computer it won't pick up emails until it is configured(and you may not wish to use it anyway). If you uninstall it it will not affect your hotmail account which you should be able to see both online and also if you set up an offline email client.

As already suggested by giraffe69 - try checking your emails on the web www.outlook.com -

if your email is an @hotmail.com or @outlook.com then simply sign in and if your messages are all seen then relax and know that the solution is likely to be very easy. - you can uninstall whatever you like on your lap top and it wont affect your messages stored on their servers.

Log on to www.outlook.com and report back if all your messages are seen.

    So, they did arrive!

    How/where did they not arrive?

What app are you using on your lap top to view your email or are you using a browser and going to www.hotmail.com

Its good news that new messages are seen 'somewhere'.

If the account has two step authentication on it then to get a third party app to use it it'll need an app password:
