Its been a big decision and a lot of work but its the right thing for me I am sure, and my work were not suportive at all on my return ! There are loads of people who have left or are leaving so its not just me.
Shopping to collect at lunch time and I need to pop into another shop for a few bits, this afternoon I plan to light the log burner and put a film on and have an afternoon of sloth.
Ive ordered some southern fried chicken bits for dinner the ones where you get legs and thighs which are coated, I shall make some chips and some hm coleslaw to go with it should be a tasty meal.
Have good days all and stay safe xxx13 -
Morning, hugs if you need one. We have rain but its so cold.......have been to the market for fresh fruit and veg, roads very wet, starting to flood in the usual places and daft idiots trying to overtake when you are turning right. When we got to the school there was a bus broken down and a huge lorry waiting to pick it up.......had to reverse out of where we usually park, could not get by the bus. and the lorry was blocking the exit.......
Back in the warm now and staying here. DB says the rain is due to last for most of the day.
Cleaned out the fridge veg storage box, I put kitchen paper in the bottom, saves a lot of muck ending up having to be scrubbed off.
Started a Morse bag yesterday and then undid it all, hated the way it looked so will be starting again later today. once they are cut out they take about half an hour to sew. I use them for gifts for people, they fold up small enough to go into your handbag, great if you are out and see something you want and have no shopping bag with you.
Supper tonight is ADB, gammon steak out of the freezer. I still have a couple of those big Braeburn apples left, may well do an apple and blackberry crumble. We have rasps in elly which will do us 2 more suppers.10 -
Hello all, it's another wet and dark day but I'm not going out so it doesn't matter what the weather throws at us.
I was very productive yesterday as Mr Fix It and I sorted a lot from the dumping ground office, some stuff needed binning, some recycling and some things are ready to go the cs, at least now we can see the floor ! There is a lot of old paperwork that needs shredding though as himself decided to go through his Mum's stuff, lots of letters from her last years when he took over her affairs ( she had dementia and passed away in 2003 ) I also did a wash in the wm and cleaned the dw filter, which was disgusting, then put the dw on a self clean wash. All the dishes are now coming out shiny and super clean again and not looking dull. The water filter jug was washed out and the sinks bleached too. So today I plan on doing nothing except cooking a stir fry for tea, I'll use up some of the LO turkey bits that I put in the freezer and a sad looking pepper from the fridge with noodles etc. It's easy, just throw it in the wok and add some sort of a hm sauce, haven't decided on which one yet though, chow mein type, sweet and sour or black bean, I'll decide what to make later.
Another one here waiting on the builders to finish a job.
Right I'll empty the dw then another cuppa and feet up.
Take care all

Morning folks and thanks GERS. I am very late to the party this morning but sadly not due to a long sleep in! (It was the usual rubbish sleep) I decided to go down town on the first bus as there were a few odd bits I wanted. It was very quiet as it usually is these days. We still have lying snow left from yesterday and I dithered about whether to risk the front steps or not! I can't keep on my feet without snow these days! Anyway I got down them unscathed and as it's now started raining the remaining snow should soon be gone thank goodness. We seem to have had more than our share already this winter.
DD rang me last night to say she had tested positive for the dreaded virus. They have to test regularly at work with PCR tests 3 times a week so it had been caught early. So far she is not feeling any ill effects other than a bit of a bunged up nose. She is trying to keep apart from the 3 girls as best she can. Fortunately I haven't been in contact with them for over a week but did an LFT anyway just in case (negative)
This is one of those miserable days when I don't feel inclined to do anything. I have a small pile of ironing so may tackle that and then sink into slothfulness for the rest of the day. I have yet to watch Downton Abbey from Christmas so that may be this afternoon's viewing. I have a fancy for fish for my tea so will get some out shortly.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones and those with worries or woes. Wow SCARLET lucky you! I have had premium bonds going back about 40 years and have never won anything on them! Take care one and all and stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. Morning
Miserable and rainy here but my fingers can vouch for the fact its milder.
Just put a chilli in the slow cooker for later. It's one of my open the cupboard and chuck in a bit of this and a bit of that ones that can brew all day. I will have it with some wraps and cheese later. Watching hubby of course and he's doing prawn cocktail later which is on my list of regulars now so I can see if Im doing it right
Last night was a uhh uhh moment when I made up my seafood pizza coked it perfectly then promptly dropped it on the kitchen floor. Luckily floor is clean so I brought in the 4 sec rule
Today will be mostly sloth style
have a good weekend all

Hello everyone
Little one woke about half 6 this morning, but was happy to snuggle in with me and then watch The Gruffalo on my I pad so it was after 8 when we got up. I got my ironing done while she played with playdoh at the kitchen table, then we went down to my mam and dads. They bought her a dolls house for her birthday and then ordered some more furniture - that had just arrived so great gran and little one had a lovely time sorting it all out - it's all very cute!
Just having our lunch then she'll go up for her nap and I'm planning to have a read. She usually sleeps for at least an hour - sometimes 2 if I'm really lucky! I have a Tesco delivery 3 to 4 - she's actually a very good help and runs back and forwards putting everything on the kitchen table for me. DD is working till 6, so she'll pick her up before bed.
Miserable drizzly day - I'll not be out again - nice and cosy indoors.
Hope everyone has a good day today x8
