Morning Gers and all who follow chilly but not freezing DD2 and SIL are off sking today if her test comes through it hasn't arrived yet so not sure what's going to happen there, the office doesn't open till 9am . Not much to do today some building supplies are due but will have to be stored in the garage as can't be used til the roof is done which looks like it will now be feb as they sent the wrong roof windows last week of December . I need to mail the renderer as he should be giving me a date to start soon that was supposed to be December but due to covid it was pushed back I need to go shopping for fresh bits this weekend at some point but other than that it will be a lazy weekend .
Hugs to all our poorlies those who are looking after them and anyone who just feels like a hug . Have a good day stay safe and warm xxSlava Ukraini12 -
Morning folks.More overnight battering rain meant I briefly woke up so often but went back to sleep almost immediately. Very odd.Yesterday I reached the peak of slothfulness 😵💫 so, today I must do better. My evening was livened up by a lovely long phone call with an ex-neighbour in Glasgow. She filled me in all the news from area.Last night my upstairs TV wasn't working but seems fine now. I think it needs new connectors to the Freesat dish.Today my great excitement is that the new saucepan is due to be delivered so I will clear out the pan cupboard, there is so much unused stuff in there. I had a clear out of another kitchen cupboard last week as I had duplicate gadgets from my time in Glasgow. I really want the cupboards changed into drawers even though I'll lose some space, I don't need space, I need fewer things which I can reach easily.Hugs all over everyone. Happy Saturday to all.13

Morning everyone
Gers - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now getting light, raining and laying water everywhere - forecast is for rain for the coming days.
DH watching catchup tv, I'm showered, dressed and just enjoyed some toast with my first cuppa of the day. DS1 still in his pit not happy though as the smoke/carbon monoxide alarm started shouting about low battery in the early hours! Need to go and buy the relevant battery today. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was breaded chicken and rice for the menfolk. I had fishcakes and salad. Not sure what we'll be eating tonight will find something.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, and thanks for starting Gers,It's raining here, last night when I came home from a friend's there was a hard frost, and I was walking very carefully.Sounds like there is going to be a lot of work done at your house Bella.I've been clearing out kitchen cupboards as well Gers, and some stuff has gone to the cs, a souffle dish which I've never used at all and had for years, and one or two other things.I need to buy bread today and some potatoes, also the freezer needs a tidy, though it seems like the freezer always needs a tidy.I had an email to tell me I'd had a Premium Bond win, so I eagerly logged in, with visions of big money, but it was £25! Still, it's a win! I won't let it change my life though.Thinking of our poorly people, and those struggling with life.Take care folks.13

Morning All
After snow yesterday it's raining this morning. The snow wasn't too bad here but was really thick and heavy when I got to work- lots of very soggy children to change! 2 more staff off for testing yesterday so we were really short staffed but as usual we worked as a team and got through it.
Just off for a swim in the Loch, expecting it to be a bit cold this morning! Library to visit later so I may have a chilled day.
Thinking of the poorlies and those looking after poorly folk, take care. XX11 -
Hi everyone, thanks for the start Gers.
Hope DD2 and SIL manage to get away Bella x
Scarlet – DH stole my souffle dish to mix Polyfilla in and I never saw it again!
Enjoy your swim Camelot – rather you than me brrrrr!
Today I am meeting DMum in the big town a bus ride away. It’s 45 mins on the train for her. She has a dahlia for me(!) which I’m hoping isn’t too large/heavy. I need to buy a giftcard at St@rbucks for a friend’s stepdaughter as it’s her birthday this week. Will also hit the charity shops as there’s loads!
We are out at a party this evening – I will be driving. Will look for a new top when I’m out today.
Have a good day everyone, and stay safe and warm.

Morning all!
Dark and damp here but not raining at the moment.
I've been to sains already for a few bits - I like to go whilst it's quiet and I'm always up and about early.
Today I need to do some cleaning that I have been putting off - things like the paintwork on the bannisters, the microwave and some mirrors. I also need to do some general cleaning so will crack on with all of that later.
I'm making sweet and sour chicken for this evening so that's nice and easy. I will try and get all my chores done this morning so that I can spend the afternoon/evening relaxing and watching tv/reading.
I've got one load in the washer but don't really need to do any other washing for a while.
I hope everyone is okay and get some time to relax today

Morning all.
Thanks for the thread Gers and hugs to all those in need.
2 degrees here so I put the heating on for an hour.
I spent most of last night awake, I've received a FB message that upset me so I will need a nana nap later.
I need to walk Beano and get on with my jobs then.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester.Chin up, Titus out.12 -
Hi everyone,
Things are quiet here, I am plodding along with my sewing room - I emptied the shelves and wardrobe yesterday and hopefully they will be removed today with the new unit being constructed as well. I'm going through the cookery books that were on the shelves to decide which I want to keep, so far it's four discarded to one keep. I have a hard decision to make when it comes to my Good Housekeeping book. I've had it since I married 40 odd years ago but have only used it for their celebration cake recipe (which my mum used for my wedding cake and her Christmas cakes) at Christmas and not even that the last couple of years. Decision made, I'm getting rid of it, I'll keep the recipe. Any others where there is only the odd recipe I use will get the same treatment.
While I'm typing I've also come up with a plan for some old childhood books I've been keeping. They are in terrible condition but were my absolute favourites and have been read more times than I can remember. They've long been replaced but I kept them because I remember the thrill of receiving them the Christmas I was ten. I'm going to frame them (or their covers) to go on the wall in my sewing room rather than being kept in a box.
I'm on a bit of a deadline with the room for the end of January because it needs to function as a bedroom then for a couple of nights.
Bella, what a nightmare those windows have been. Chris and Crystal have been waiting for the builder who is renovating some old stables for them, he said he'd start at the end of the year but they've been held up because they have to have an archaeological survey done (their house is grade 2 listed).
Izzybee, I think there are a few of us on here with thyroid issues, my thigh pain was one of the earliest symptoms I had 35 years ago, you're right about it not really being cramp but it's difficult to describe.
Scarlet, enjoy your win, try no to spend it all at once.
I've waffled enough, have a good day.11 -
