Hi people
Our mortgage term expired 31 Oct 21. We have got a new mortgage to go ALMOST there is one huge problem
The new provider (NP) will give mortgage but wants a letter confirming our arrangement with old lender (OL)
the OL said they don't do letters the NP won't give us mortgage with letter. We have explained all this to OL and even begged on the phone with no result. All they will do is send us a redemption statement which NP won't except! as this does not say what the current arrangement is.
We have to keep OL updated every 30 days for an extension of another 30 days as to where we are but, we are scared if we now say NP wont give mortgage they will ask for money to pay outstanding balance as our mortgage term ended in 2019.
We have asked for a letter as we have no proof of verbal arrangement but no joy.
Can anyone help we have tried all ways to verbally ask for a letter we don't even know how long they will carry on we are talking to home assist people part of OL at our wits end and don't want to loose pour house and we are not young .
hope this post makes sense. TIA

Would probably help if you told us who the lenders are.0

Sounds as if there is no formal arrangement. Just temporary stays of execution.
Not clear when your mortgage term actually ended, was it 2019 or 2021.0 -
What agreement do you believe to formally be in place?1

We don't know if its formal or not. We have asked for letter or something to state our current arrangement but they refuse. they tell us just to tell any potential new lender we do it monthly by phone that's it no terms nothing in writing. We tried writing they never really look at post they always say ring.Deleted_User said:What agreement do you believe to formally be in place?

Yes you can, unless you provide the fullest information people can only give very limited advice.0

Sounds like its not a formal agreement then. If its not formal then you aren't going to get it in writing.marie_hc said:

Raise a complaint with original lender and that will probably get you a bit more traction0 -
Our mortgage lender was Woolwich but is now Barclays Bank.
