Hi, we booked to attend a festival in September 2020. Paid for event in October 2019. The event was postponed in 2020 to be redone in 2021. It was the cancelled weeks before in 2021. Refund was offered, upon application, which we sent off. Since last September nothing has shown up. We are of many trying to recover our money but nothing is coming back from the organiser, other than an automated email. Bank cannot help because its over 60 days since purchase. I made the initial payment using my debit card, mistake! Should of used my credit card.... Any advice.... Thanks

When you pay by direct debit, you can claim a chargeback from your bank, see the recent info from this very site in the link below for future use -

I know it's been quite a while but have you actually tried phoning your bank and asking if they will offer any assistance? After all, these have been very strange times, thanks to the pandemic and it seems that you've been messed about a lot by the festival organiser. It's definitely worth a try. You have 120 days to claim, by the way, according to the info in the above link. Hopefully your bank will acknowledge that there have been very unusual circumstances in your case, since the event has been organised and cancelled on more than one occasion and the refund you were offered has not been forthcoming. Good luck with it.

Chargeback also doesn't mean you just get the money back, banks can pull the funds back if the firm disputes itOP - might be useful to say what festival it was as someone might be able to help better - I know of the Neighbourhood Weekender , Lindisfarne and Glastonbury all cancelled for September
