Refund rights - France

Hello! I booked a trip to Disneyland back in October for departure on 4th January.
The tickets, flights and accommodation were all booked separately along with travel insurance.
In between booking the trip and the departure date, France banned entry to UK citizens due to the emergence of the Omicron variant which hadn’t come to light at the time of booking.
My accommodation and airline refunded me immediately upon request but Disneyland wouldn’t refund or transfer the tickets to a later date.
I was under the impression that because I booked using a credit card I would be protected but my credit card company have since told me that because Disneyland remained open to French residents and tourists from neighbouring countries that they were not in breach of their Ts&Cs and therefore wouldn’t refund my costs. I have contacted my travel insurance company and am awaiting a response but I just wanted any advice as to whether this was correct? Not been in this situation before so unsure how to proceed. If it’s a case that ultimately I have to lose that money then so be it but I would like to be 100% sure before giving up trying.
Thank you in advance!

Travel insurance is your only hope.
Credit cards don't provide an all inclusive refund right, but just the same rights as against the merchant.1 -
If your travel insurance covers Border closures then you will be able to claim.Which? Compared 80 travel insurance policies last year and at the time found only 5 that covered new Border closures. These were :
Barclays Bank, Churchill, DirectLine, Nationwide Building Society and HSBC.

When making your own travel arrangements there's always additional risks involved. Packages cost more for good reasons.0

"1-Day dated tickets can be cancelled and refunded up to 3 days before your chosen date (including the day of arrival, for example, if you have a ticket for 4 June, you have until midnight on 1 June to cancel). You can cancel your ticket online directly from the order page which you can access with your security key, provided in your confirmation email."
