I read the mortgage account update again and can’t understand what they’ve done. They normally add all the interest for the year on the 31st December, but they seem to just be charging a month this time ….? Odd.Finished the patio clearing (nearly - Mr KK’s back is giving him gip so we have given up on lifting all the slabs to get the big roots out today - did manage to get out one mega Dill and two cotoneasters out before we stopped though). Mr K also broke the wall out and made a step for me to be able to walk through the Border of Doom - I have more work to do on this, but I made a good start today and I can see how the sight line will work 😊

The house is de-christmased and I have made a batch of vegan bolognese (and finally nailed how to not have that soy after taste!). 4 portions cooling down ready for the freezer. All food (breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack) and new bottle of oat milk all ready to take into work tomorrow. Just a shower and a good night’s sleep needed now ….

We have made vegan bolognese today, we used lentils instead of soya. Looking forward to sharing it with the in-laws tomorrow.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

I am aiming for posting every day for focus and accountability. 😊
I had an NSD - yaay! 😊
It won’t be one tomorrow as I will be eating in work (they do pretty good food and actually have a vegan option tomorrow 😊). I will offset this by taking lunch in on Friday which I normally don’t.
8.4K steps today 😊
Going to update some YNAB transactions now before my shower - I’m going to try doing it daily until I’ve got the hang of it 😊 Then set up my overnight oats for breakfast in work and then curl up with a novel.

Transactions logged. Tracker needed some updating and I’m not sure if I have some duplicate insurance going on …. I will investigate that again.
Found that my £9.33 had tracked and a further £5.05 TT means that I have just moved £14.38 to my savings. Not a bad start to the year 😊

Daily accountability:
Weights and squats done whilst kettle was boiling this morning.Went for a short walk at lunchtime.
Steps a bit short on count at 7.4K but hey, it was a busy day. 😉
Not an NSD but expected (lunch from the canteen because they had a nice option on) and mushrooms for dinner (forgot to buy enough in last week’s shop - ought to add that £1.30 to my food budget actually ….) both paid for out of my £50 pocket money of which I still have £80.shrapnel (took cash out and then Mr KK unexpectedly paid me back in cash for something). I suspect that lump of cash will become more firewood as we are getting low so I am deliberately *not* feeling flush …. 😉
Printed off a load of recipes that use leeks and will cook some more of those from the garden for lunches this weekend, along with a batch of farro wheat for padding out tinned / frozen soups for work lunches.Lunch pulled out of the freezer for tomorrow (rice n’ beans). Just need to finish setting up my breakfast and snacks for tomorrow and it should be an NSD …. 😊
After my shower I shall make a start on making next year’s tags from the Christmas cards - a lot arrived very late this year.
Nothing very exciting in this lot, but good to acknowledge I am plodding along …. 😊KKAs at 15.07.25:

I walked round the garden at lunchtime and spotted winter honeysuckles both flowering, and the witch hazel has magically started up over night. Thought of you and your plans which made me look harder at what I can achieve in the garden here.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
