Morning everyone freezing here today just popped to Aldi for bread and eggs and got a pork joint reduced to 3 pounds I have split it into 3 so there’s 3 Sunday lunches I know I need the freezer down but I couldn’t turn it down and I would have needed to buy a joint for Sunday . Your all right about my boss she’s a spiteful piece work but you just get to a stage where you take no notice of her if she goes upstairs to do anything she puts the radio on and if we have to go up to get a quilt or anything to bring down for a customer she turns the radio off she says it’s her radio and she pays the license I bet she does so there’s only her allowed to listen to it I just roll my eyes and I think what a miserable life you must have my friend always says she’s that mean she could skin a f*rt and come back for the smell 😂 last day today it’s been a short week I’m hoping to get a couple of good walks in over the weekend as long as it’s not icy underfoot it’s very slippery today I think we are due rain roll on the summer have a good day everyone whatever you are doing11

Good morning all
It definitely feels warmer today after such a cold day yesterday.
I am working from home today but have a few chores I would like to get done in between. I have decided to switch the contents of some drawers around so that I have the things I used most in the more accessible places. I also want to make a list of the things I would like to get done this weekend and it always feels very productive to have a list and actually do some of the things on it! lol
Dinner is up for discussion but we have plenty in and most of it quite quick and easy so nothing to worry about.
Camelot - I agree, it does just now feel like a matter of time before we all have the dreaded covid - fingers crossed we all get it in a fairly mild form.
No real plans for the weekend except for a quick pop to the supermarket tomorrow morning. I will do some tasks from my list and then read my book and watch TV - what bliss!
Have a great day all.
x
p.s. just popping back as I meant to ask a quick question! I am interested to hear what other threads you also follow on here. There are so many that I don't really know where to start!11 -
Morning all
Pouring with rain here and set in for the day I think, it will be a soggy dog walk later ! Dd is still off with a heavy cold and hacking cough so im not sure she should go out in this weather !
Big news I handed my notice in yesterday ! When I returned after the breast cancer I asked not to work weekends and not to do anything too heavy etc as I am not as strong as I once was, they told me the only job available was my old job in the cafe but that I now needed to work weekends, I used to work weekends and its in my contract but have not done them for the last 2 years ish, there used to be two staff members in my cafe but now its just me and its running me ragged, I am literally running from one thing to the next to get everything done ! So I have applied to become a shared lives carer and I will have people with learning difficulties in my home they dont sleep here just come for the day and we can do things like walk the dog, baking, have lunch out, go swimming or do craft things if its raining, its a lot more money and I am working four days a week and no weekends its much more suited to me now. Nels has been a great support to me as I have had to do a lot of work to get to this stage she has been like my coach and I so appreciate her help.
I have to face panel on the 9th Feb and should go live a couple of weeks after this so I have given a long notice at work and will leave at the end of Feb. I am so looking forward to being my own boss and to not have anyone looking over my shoulder and the constant cleaning etc at work. Its a huge life change but one I am looking forward to.
Little dog has the vet tonight as she has lost a tooth, its not snapped its just fallen out so I want them to check her mouth to make sure its all ok.
Might get a takeaway curry tonight to celebrate my new job it will be a nice treat and save cooking. DW to empty this morning and I have put a wash on, it will have to go in the TD today.
NRA thinking of you xxx
Nels I hope your poor hands are a bit better xx
Have good days all xx

Morning all, it's soooo cold today, either that or I've become more nesh than usual. I've also developed a problem with my right thigh and feels like constant toothache. It's so painful that it wouldn't let me sleep for long last night so I'm another in the sleepless club 😒 Anyway Deep He*t will be my friend today, failing that I have some Ibrupr*fen gel which I had from my GP for something else and hot baths.
I have the heating on today as I need to keep moving and sort/tidy the office. It's now the official dumping ground for things that are ready to be put away or homes found. I shall take a black bag with me as I'm sure there's something there that can go out. The builder has been coming back everyday for nearly a week but the weather has scuppered him, so we're on standby for Monday now. I know it's all out of his hands but it's getting a bit tiring living in a building site.
Right more hot liquids and a heat pad before I venture into the room of doom. I'm going in and if I don't came back tomorrow please send in the sniffer dogs 🤣
Take care all, stay safe and warm. Hugs to anyone in need.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11 -
RR, that's good news, I must admit I thought that your workplace treated you dreadfully with regard to your return.
Nanny, I have an underactive thyroid and one of the first symptoms I get is an ache in my thigh. In fact before Christmas my legs and feet were aching and cramping all the time, although worse in bed so I upped my thyroxine slightly and after a few days it was much better. Maybe it's worth asking for a check on your thyroid levels, I must ring the Dr and tell them what I have done.13 -
Ruby - that's such brilliant news, well done on being so proactive in making such a big change. 🎉🎉 You sound so upbeat about this move and the work sounds wonderful too.And more well done to Nelski for all the coaching and encouragement. 🌺 It's great how much we each give and receive from others here, sometimes much more than from family and friends.❤️12

RedRuby - what an amazing opportunity and sounds absolutely perfect for you!11

Well done RUBY and I agree with SNOOZER, your employers lost a good worker with their less than compassionate attitude. I admire you for taking such a big step and hope it works out well for you. And well done NELS for the help and encouragement.
After my earlier post we had another deluge of snow but now it's stopped, the sky is blue and the sun is shining! A day of 2 halves. Let's hope we have seen the last of it."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning
Was going to skip posting today due to my useless hands but had to come on and say congratulations to our rubes. She really is quite a wonder woman after going through everything she has for the last 2 years, going for an amazing opportunity and smashing it. You deserve all the success I know you will have in you're new life matey and your new 'friends' will be lucky to have you as a mentor. Enjoy your curry and celebrate.
I'm opting for easy food atm so last nights delight was hot dogs and onions and today I have a pizza out. Its a cheese one but the plan is to put some tuna and anchovies on to create my favourite.
Got a smallish delivery yesterday too top up the essentials. Sadly Baileys is no longer essential after doubling in price.
Anyway have a good day all x

Morning, hugs if you need one.
Well done RUBY, your employers have messed you around something rotten and obviously do not appreciate you, good luck with your new job, it sounds very good.
Its cold here again this morning, not sure if we have had a frost, have not opened the blinds, the sun is very bright.
I have given in and done an order for next week from Morrison, its just over £40, by 25p and I get free delivery. Its mostly stuff to stock up with. C&C from Aldi just before Christmas, so its really just odds and ends. plenty of meat in the freezers. We will go to the market for fresh fruit & veg tomorrow morning. Hope the roads are ok, the descent into the village where the market is held is steep and twisty, not the road you want to be on in snow or ice.
No plans for today, I joined the wide awake club last night as well, well after 2am before the eyelids closed. I had a couple og good nights, so its the wide awake turn. Wish I could sleep like DB, head down and away, very rarely wakes up.
Will be glad to see the library van on Monday, I have nothing to read, finished all my library books and the books on Borrow box do not start coming in until next week.
Usual fish and chips tonight, I am going to do raspberries in jelly for tonight, they will last us till Sunday.........9
