This is an “over the garden fence” type
thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit
more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to
discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve
achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet
up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join
us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Scarlet - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, air feels cool.
DH and DS1 up and getting ready for work, I'm showered and dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was a cheeky chinese takeaway - all eaten and enjoyed.
Now on days off, so loads to do, I need to go to collect my click and collect order early this morning, hoping it's all gone ok as haven't heard from them yet and order is quite early, so hope it's going to work out. I'm going to visit my bestie with her families xmas prezzies that didn't get delivered before xmas due to us isolating and having covid. I still have some prezzies to buy so will be doing that this next week. I'm planning to start a big sort out of the house - had enough of living in a pit, there's so much stuff that needs sorting and getting rid of.
Dinner tonight will be something quick and easy possibly breaded chicken steaks for the menfolk, I'll have fish cakes or something similar.
Keep safe and well x

It's snowing. Bitterly cold this morning so the heating is on for a while, I think I will leave it on low today whilst I am at work, it took ages to heat up last night even with the stove lit.
I keep waking up at 4am so feel shattered by lunchtime, hoping the weekend can sort the sleep out. Seems strange to be at Friday already with only going back to work on Wednesday.
We are another 2 staff members down and more children either isolating or testing positive, I feel it's only a matter of time for me now!
Izzy, your boss sounds to be a horror.
Hope the treatment helps Poppy.
Sorry, forgot to say hello tryingtocutback.
Hugs to those in need.
Bedding in the WM, will hang it on the pulley before work. Still using up Christmas foods, the fridge is nearly empty!
Take care. XX
Friday Tidy day with a dust and vac all round and up and down. The kitchen and bathroom got a good clean yesterday. I don't much like Fridays!
Operation eat from the freezers started yesterday and this morning I have half an avocado out defrosting to be incorporated into breakfast. I got a bag of frozen halves reduced in Morries last year and wasn't too impressed by them. They are a bit soft when defrosted but I thought blow it, I bought them so I will eat them! The first ended up squashed onto toast with a poached egg on top and it wasn't too bad so probably the same today unless I get a better idea!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones or those with worries and woes. Ouch BELLA I hope your pain is soon resolved, living off nursery food isn't much fun. Thinking of NRA. Take care one and all and be safe xx
Thanks for the thread Scarlet and hugs to all those in need.
I've missed posting for a couple of days, it's been bitterly cold with a heavy frost so we've had to put the heating on.
Another boat is up for sale the owners are in their 80's and are moving near their family.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester.

Hugs to those looking after poorlies those who are not feeling the best and all those MIA's Stay safe and warm xx
Morning all and thanks for the thread Scarlet x
Very damp here and heavy rain last night. We were at the cinema – The K!ngsman – wasn’t sure at first and then the action started! I gave blood yesterday – used to do it regularly but haven’t for 5 years. Bruising is quite bad this morning and I have a headache. Not sure they are related but I’m going to be kind to myself today.
Got very frustrated at work yesterday – not sure whether I’m fed up enough to look/apply for something else though. I work from home currently and no sign of when we will be going back in. Salary is good, pension is good - can I stick it another 8 years….?!
Need some fresh f&v so will pop out at lunchtime. DH has his booster (delayed due to him having Covid) so I’ll walk down with him. Will have a nice bath and do a face mask tonight as a mini pamper.
Snoozer – hope Curry$ come through on the laptop – ridiculous that you even have to have the conversation – it’s new, it doesn’t work, please give me a new one – simples!
Bella – we’ve lived here 17 years and still have unopened boxes in the loft! Thinking of getting a skip later in the year!
Have a good day everyone,
Coxy
We've not heard from the local Curry's, we were asked to give them 72 hours to respond, that takes us till tomorrow lunchtime, I must say I'm not holding my breath.
I started clearing the wardrobe in the spare room we are turning into a sewing room, I've just emptied it onto the bed but I know there is quite a bit that needs culling. Steve's sister is coming at the beginning of Feb and though she will be sleeping in another room we will need to make sure that we can use this room because Laura, Brian and Esben will probably be coming to spend a night or two as well. I got myself a label maker a la Dilly from Sort your Life out so I have been labelling my boxes of fabric as well.
I shall be carrying on with the sorting today but I also need to clean the bathrooms, Steve will walk Ziggy, it's not as cold as yesterday thankfully. I'm expecting a new vacuum today, we've not been able to get a spare part for the dyson which fitted so I have ordered a Shark (I will never buy anything from Dyson again), it's got good reviews and was reduced by nearly £200 in the sale, probably because it's being superseded by a new model.
I've just remembered we need to send a birthday card to Steve's sister for next week, the post has been so awful I don't want t leave it to chance. We've already sorted her present, we are going to see the cellist who played at Prince Harry's wedding when she comes down, fingers crossed it goes ahead.
Have a good day.
