Hi all, after some advice please. Im currently in a DMP through StepChange, ive just checked my credit reports (Equifax & Experian) and have found that the original creditor i.e Creation Consumer Finance have defaulted the account as expected but then Lowell who have purchased the debt have now started updating the credit agencies and it shows as 4 payments in arrears but I can see Stepchange have made the payments and have done so for many months. What should i do in this instance, should i contact Lowell and request the account be defaulted inline with the original account with Creation Consumer Finance? im just concerned this will be on my account after the original default clears in a couple of years. Thanks

You said " I can see Stepchange have made the payments and have done so for many months."
So your next step would be not to default just yet but to contact Stepchange, since they are acting as your intermediary and have been making payments, and ask them what's going on and if they can help to sort things out for you. That is not an unreasonable request. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts.
