Family travel insurance

I'm booking travel insurance for a skiing trip. Our son has turned 18, our daughter still 16. Is it cheaper/better to book group insurance or family for the 3 of us and individual for my son?

The problem with insuring one person individually is what would happen if you needed to claim . If your son broke his leg a week before your trip, the insurance would pay for his air fares and hotel cost but not for yours. I suspect that in this situation the whole family would want to cancel and the expenses for the rest of the family would not be covered.I would buy a policy for the whole family rather than trying to save a few pounds.0

As above , the cost of the policy isn’t the only factor to consider.
If one of you test positive for Covid in the days before departure and you have to cancel the holiday , with separate insurance not all of you would able to claim a refund for the cancelled the trip.
With a group/ family policy you will all be entitled to claim.0 -
Some family policies cover offspring over 18 who are still in full time education, check the T&Cs.
