Can anyone advise on timescales for ATOL & TTA if my travel agent goes out of business (likely as they are a specialist to an area that has been closed for almost 2 years).

ATOL estimate "within 28 days". It might depend how big the company is and whether they have a bunch of people abroad as ATOL always prioritise getting people home first. I have never had to use them personally, but a family member did a few years back and had no issues with ATOL.

    That’s fantastic.
I was asking as agent (who doesn’t want us to cancel) said 2 years to get our money back.

it’s a small firm and I don’t believe anyone is abroad (country been shut since March 2020).

I’ve spoken to the TTA this morning and they said that we’d all go through the TTA - both us without flights and our friends who included flights.

TTA does not have the same resources as the CAA and has just had their biggest failure ever, Teletext Holidays, nevertheless they're estimating a 12-week turnaround for refunds so where the 2 years came from is anyone's guess!

A very desperate travel agent who wants to keep our deposit by persuading us to postpone our holiday a 3rd time.
I don’t think they are a bad person, I think they are desperate and panic’d, but nevertheless they haven’t really helped their cause by lying to us so transparently.

it will be easier for us if they go bust.
