easyJet hold baggage

Hi

We are planning to bbook a return flight booking via easyJet.

On the return leg of the flight we would like to add 23kg checked in luggage at an extra cost.

However the easyjet website applies the extra luggage(and cost) to both the flights.

How do we tackle this?

According to their FAQ you can only do this at the airport, which will cost more.

You need to work out if it’ll be cheaper to add it onto both legs regardless.

“When you add hold luggage to your booking we add a bag to all sectors on your booking. Once you’ve booked hold luggage we’re unable to offer you a refund should you change your mind. If you want to buy hold luggage for only one sector, you can only do this at the airport. Please check our fees and charges for current prices.”

Check pricing but the other alternative is to book the tickets as two oneway tickets and thus you can add the luggage to just one leg. Traditionally two one way were more expensive than a return (often a lot more) but with some budget airlines the difference can be minimal to none.

Be aware however if you do this that you dont have the same rights as if there is an issue with one leg of your return ticket and so if the outbound flights are cancelled you have no automatic right to a refund of the "return" flights as they are not actually a return.
