So Energy - new rate??

I'm currently on a deal with SO Energy until March and I realise my bill is going to increase significantly then. I received a cold call from So Energy yesterday telling me that I should have received an email about a new tariff I can move onto in March. I explained I hadn't seen an email and she said it might come today but still nothing.
Anyway she explained that it was a capped deal which would start in March and would cost £190 per month instead of my current £90 per month. I explained that's a lot more that my current direct debit (although I am expecting a large rise). I told her I wouldn't commit to anything now until I see something in writing but she was trying to persuade me to commit saying that the deal was only for yesterday and could go up even further. Has anyone had a similar call from So Energy and if so what are your thoughts on the new deal??

I’m with so energy for gas only fixed until April, I won’t be fixing as I won’t use much gas from April until October because it will only be water heating so I’m going to take a risk that hopefully things will stabilise, I haven’t recieved any communication or phone call. But I have looked at their fixes which are horrendous. There’s better fixes around should i decide to fix.

Your direct debit amount per month is not the important figure, its your unit rate and standing charge you should look at.The price cap is probably going to go up in order of 40-50% in April, so base if any "fixed deal" offer is less than 40% more than the current variable rate tariff with your supplier.....if it is it might be worth it.Don't just accept a tariff based on a direct debit it amount as its means absolutely nothing.2

If they were pressure selling then you should ask yourself why. A good deal does not need pressure applying. Anyway check the actual figures as niktheguru saiid
